Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Works on Paper started for next show...

I had a great time painting Monday afternoon.  I got out my watercolors and Frenchie pastels and created "Frank's Farm #8".  I realize that I'm overly enamored with Frank's Farm, but the sunsets on this old Michigan cow farm are the most beautiful I've ever seen.  The barns have a blue-violet hue in the evening, and I've gotten so many great photos there.  I have yet to get this farm out of my system...I hope to stop at Frank's Farm #10, but I can't promise that.

This is what I have so far ...

I also prepped two 10x10 canvas papers with cobalt blue light, one of my favorite colors to do underpainting with.  My "Sleeping with The Fishes" painting has gotten much attention and I am interested in bringing those little fish from Belize to paper.... I will have them sketched out and a layer or two of color for you by tomorrow afternoon.

I had a delightful morning today at Maryland Federation of Art.  Patrice Drago, a great friend and highly skilled artist/writer, invited a handful of well known interior designers to join the Melange artists at Circle Gallery for a breakfast/meet and greet.  It was so much fun!  It is always validating to have other professionals comment on your work, but these gals were interested in the stories and process beneath the inception of each piece and it was really nice to have so many questions.  Original art does tell a story, so much more so than mass produced prints or posters.  And there is original art in every price range at MFA.  Patrice was successful in presenting that fact this morning in an elegant way (of course, she's the most charming woman I know).  She also let me crash in her guest bed last night so I didn't have to fight traffic this morning (thank you!!!).

I'm leaving for volleyball in a few so I need to quickly down my sugar free Red Bull and get out the door...see you tomorrow!
