I made the mistake of poking fun of L.A. traffic while on the phone with a client this week. She lives there and found my joke less amusing than I did. And then came the karma...we've had five straight days of gloomy, foggy, cold, wet weather. Serves me right. I'd take L.A. traffic over this depressing weather in a heartbeat (at least until the sun comes back to Maryland!).
So last week I got some great sunset shots of the road that parallels my road. I love the farms there. Half of them are falling down, but that just adds to the charm. If I want to see perfectly manicured farms, I'll drive a few miles south to Butler, MD. I think those are referred to as manors, not farms, because they have a staff to tend to the farm. The owners don't actually compost the manure or sheer the sheep. Sounds good, right? I would love to have a few sheep...Tuscan sheep to be specific...
So today I had some luck at the kitchen table! Very excited to share with you what I have done on my landscape thus far. I plan to add some clouds and more detail, but it's always a good idea to stop and let your paint dry when you've gotten to a fork in the road and need to think/sleep on what to do next. Sometimes when you keep going, you end up doing too much to the piece. Slow and steady is good, at least in my experience.
I started putting clouds in here then changed my mind because I felt the sky was too blah.
Getting there...I added some detail to the brush and trees, but still have some work to do on the sky. Cloud shapes are roughed in at the top although I may end up dropping them down a bit.
I am very happy with this piece so far. Looking forward to a strong finish tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping in...
