If you're in the Annapolis area (or plan to be or could be if prodded), count on spending the evening of March 18th with us at Maryland Federation of Art. Yes, that is the eve after St. Patrick's Day...so if you're a good Catholic (or not so good Catholic), detox with us and enjoy a low-key evening of art, artists, and a cash bar, for an event to benefit Maryland Federation of Art (MFA).
Each MFA artist member was recently asked to donate a piece of art that would fit into a 14x11x5" brown paper bag provided by MFA. The art must be original, reflective of the artist's body of work, and placed in the nondescript bag to be hung at MFA for the event.
Attendees pre-register for the event by buying tickets for $35 each on the MFA website or by calling Circle Gallery (410-268-4566) to reserve a spot. Then on the night of the event, as attendees arrive, they will be given a number that corresponds to a bag with the same number. After all the bags are opened, attendees are encouraged to trade among themselves if desired. Everyone will go home with something unique, and for the impossibly low price of a $35 ticket.
No brainer, right? See you there!
