Good evening! Lots going on behind the scenes here in recent weeks. I’m started with a new print shop here in Traverse City, who will be capturing my original images for giclee prints on both canvas and paper.
Why? Because it makes special art more accessible to more folks and also allows me to keep an “artist’s collection” of pieces that I feel are the best representation of my work in a given period. “Good Wind” is one of those pieces. It was juried into a national show, “Corporate Connections”, through Maryland Federation of Art in 2019 in Washington, D.C. at National Harbor. A prominent National Geographic photographer was the judge of this show and he picked this piece out of hundreds and hundreds, along with a sampling of work from a handful of my MFA colleagues. I was absolutely thrilled! And, this paper cut/watercolor piece will look fantastic as a print, given it’s clean lines and limited palette.
Good Wind, Print #1 is being donated to an auction/fundraiser to build a field house dedicated to my good buddy’s son, who was killed last year in a random and senseless shooting at a bar in South Carolina last January (2020). Garrett Bakhsh was a freshman at Coker University and on a lacrosse scholarship. If you are interested in bidding on this #1 of 500 total in this limited edition, please let me know and I’ll put you in contact with the auction manager or please contact Coppermine in Baltimore County, MD, who will be hosting this event on July 31st.
