Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Old Glory 2022 24x36 In Process

It’s Monday again. Raining and cold here in northern Michigan but I’m feeling blessed to have had a brush in my left hand and a great cup of coffee in my right.

Today, I wanted to do a modern version of our beautiful flag. Perhaps a painting that might fit well into a neutral room rather than a representational, more like-life version of of Old Glory. I’m loving the palette I’ve been using these past couple of weeks and simply am not ready to put these hues up yet. The softer colors are actually several layers of acrylic. The texture is really nice and the brush marks are pretty bold.

This piece is not for sale yet but might be in a few days if my fella doesn’t claim it for his new office, first. My husband is a West Point grad and former Army Ranger, so we love the flag around here! Feel free to convo me with questions via my contact page on this site.
