Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Underwater Desert #2 (Saguaros)

I prepped a canvas today in Liquitex “Petrol” then started a sweet medium-sized paper cut/mixed media at 14x16.

Paper cuts are time consuming when each piece of paper is watercolored, dried, then cut and adhered to a board or canvas. I’ve been stockpiling watercolored arches cold pressed paper that I wash with diluted acrylics then dry for at least a week under heavy books, otherwise they curl.

They also tend to curl under the glue as well so only one layer can be placed and secured at once.

My first underwater desert piece went to a good buddy in my small group from church. It’s funny because almost no one here knows that I paint or that I’ve been selling my work since 2003. It was a gift. She likes it and I’m glad because I was super nervous that she might not. Everyone has such differing taste in art….

So, here’s what I’ve got so far today. Stop back tomorrow?
