Good afternoon! This summer, I joined the Plein Air Painters Of North West Michigan. Today was my first painting exercise outdoors in at least five years and it felt great.
These brave, talented artistically bent folks were generous and welcoming and today we painted at Shalda Creek near Good Harbor Bay off of Bohemian Road in Leelenau Co.
It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time of something of my own choosing. I stole time away this morning and braved rain and wind and 59 degrees to paint on the shadows of a thick cedar forest where Shalda runs into the Great Lake Michigan.
I watercolored and it was pretty damp out but I’m still happy with the two I started among new friends (I hope). These folks are all full time successful artists. It’s so nice to be in the woods with other creatives, enjoying the special spots of this region.
I’ll be painting every Thursday outside with these folks and offering these watercolors on a first come, first served basis for $125 (unframed) including shipping. Please message me for inquiries!
