But what?
This morning I laid down a few more washes to deepen the underpainting/background for my next painting.
I’m feeling inspired by a couple new art reference books I bought myself after Christmas with some gift cards. And of course, new design colors were posted for 2024. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams always have new colors in January and I LOVE sitting down at the local paint stores, putting together swatches for palette ideas for paintings. Does anyone else enjoy this activity as thoroughly as I do?
I had our house painted an inky black/navy in the fall and it makes me so happy (even four months later!) when I pull into the driveway. I did the window panes in habanero pepper. My poor husband was terrified when I showed him the swatches but he’s a good dude and trusted me.
There will always be lovers of beige and graige, tan, white, and cream house paint (we have a few in our neighborhood) but that’s just not us. 😊
Anyhow, I’ll post more in process of this new piece later today.
