Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Big Jelly…This is No. 03

I laid down the underpainting over the weekend and finally got to work on the composition today…It’s a commanding size, 30x40…

The image at the bottom offers an idea of the size in a room. The piece is on an XL easel.

I do realize my studio is a mess. Still recovering from the Christmas glut of boxes, wrapping paper, and general junk our kiddos parked on the floor. Not glamorous or tidy (for now) but I feel more creative than I have in years. I thought it was Christmas but it may just be a long bout of unbridled joy! I love that I get a new year to work on myself, my craft, my family, and my dear friends.

Hope your 2025 is already off to a stellar start. Thank you for visiting my little studio.

A close up of Jelly #3. I have about four hours in. I hope to start on the underwater Gulf Vegetation tomorrow. Just need to think about how and where to put it. I’m liking this so far…

The piece is 30×40 on wrapped archival canvas. Acrylic paint. This is the fourth piece in my Gulf Series. Can you tell I’m already fixed on Spring Break? It’s 12 degrees here and snowing for the third day in a row. And from what I hear, next week will be colder. I didn’t leave the house today.

On a positive note, my fella got a nice doe over Thanksgiving and tonight I made Venison Pasties (it’s a Cornish Meat Pie but I use deer instead of beef or chicken). I’ve also made deer chili, deer tacos, etc….I wish there were some wild cows in the forest at the camp so the freezer was a little more varied in content…

Halfway there on Jelly No. 03…
