I plan to enter a New York State watercolor show this week that highlights the Andirondack region, so I asked my dearest buddy for some photos of lakes/land where they have a family cabin.
Among the photos send was a stellar shot of a gathering of rocks with mountains and monumental pines in the background. Shallow pools round out the photo. Thank you to Steve Coppola, my buddy’s brother, for the photo!
Below is what I have so far. I will be adding some drama tomorrow. Artistic license to be deployed on the sky in form of persimmon hues, then another rock as one never has an even number of anything in a painting. For some reason, in art and decor, odd numbers appear more balanced.
This piece is due Thursday so I’ll be wrapping it up then returning to what’s on my easel—another sea creature abstract…
