I admit here that I’ve been avoiding the news. There’s just too much angry and not enough useful and respectful dialogue.
I didn’t intend to paint this. It was supposed to be an abstract bike shadow in a canopy of trees, from a photo taken on a trail ride with our little guy.
When I began putting down paint, I asked our older son what it looked like while the paper was upside down on the kitchen table.
“It’s obviously the Statue of Liberty, Mom.”
And it seems he was right.
This piece started out as an abstract exercise with some blue acrylic and a nice piece of cold pressed Arches watercolor paper. Now it’s one of my favorites.
22x30”. Unpacking Liberty”. Acrylic on paper. Will need to be framed. Ready to ship! $375 including shipping. Will be shipped in a tube. Contact me for details.
The first photo is the entire piece. Below are some close ups. Look closely and you will see a mouth and nose, then a breast/stomach/bellybutton. The last photo is the bike/rider. It’s nuts the way paint makes itself on paper sometimes…
You can see the bike and rider (me) in this last photo above.
Thank you for stopping by!
