Last night I finished up a little 12x16 called, "Art Deco Building, Bangkok". I was happy to be done with the straight lines and tight sketches required to achieve the lineal feel, yet offer a nod to the whimsy that I love, achieved through color and my habitual scribbles to outline the subjects in my paintings. I delivered the three pieces to West Annapolis Art Works this morning (thank you for the invite, Su!) and am thrilled to be hung next to some seriously stellar artists. Opening night is June 14th, 5-8pm. The artists, including myself, are going to cover a giant canvas with paint...a little entertainment while the guest sip wine (consider yourself invited!)
I'm too tired to write more...but happy to have finished up this series before my deadline. That's always something to celebrate! So, here's the finished product for your viewing pleasure...while I get into the tall cabinet that is housing some carmel colored liquid that will be swishing around a whiskey glass with four ice cubes in less than a minute...Cheers!...and thanks for looking...
