Today I completed Tag 56, attempt #3. I believe it's a 16x20. My previous attempts were 24x24, but I wanted less expanse on this one. Pictured below is about as loose a brushwork I can get without going all out abstract. I may do some tweaking to this piece this week after looking at it on the wall for a few days...that's how I truly know if a painting is complete or not.
Here are some photos of the piece in process:
Here's last week's composition with some phylo turquoise added, french gray, and titanium white.
Payne's grey added here for outlining and shading purposes...
Here's the completed piece (I think?) after adding some Green Gold and getting some drippy paint going in the background. Some accidentally began to run so I just sat back and let the paint go where it wants to. See Mom, I'm not a control freak after all!
Lastly, I firmed up some highlights with unbleached titanium and more Payne's grey as well as the turquoise where I needed more color. To finish it off, I did the cow's eyes. That is the absolute worst part in my opinion because the eyes are so important and I didn't want to ruin them.
Thank you so much for plugging along with me and a hearty hello to Perth, Australia and my new viewer in the Rhone region of Germany! Send me some wine? Please?
