Happy 4th! I had a little time at my table today while the hubby took the kids out for ice cream this afternoon...an hour to sketch out my composition on a canvas I prepped a couple weeks ago in anticipation of this small project.
I mentioned before my trip to Michigan that I wanted to do my jersey cows again, maybe add more dimension and change up the style a bit. I'm feeling the need for looser brushwork and a more casual application of the acrylics vs hypercontrolled strokes.
Here's what I have so far. Scroll back to my June posts to see the first two attempts. I'm hoping to do this painting every few years just to see where my work is going.
Prepped canvas
Initial Sketch with Blue Sharpie added on top so it shows through a little...
Today was gloomy so I thought I'd cheer myself up by finger painting a little bit...
Here's where I stopped.
I'll be working in this for a couple more days....but not tomorrow. It's my dude's 45th birthday and I'll be spending the day spoiling him...
Hope you all have a very safe Independence Day!
