Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

In the works...a mixed media 10x10 entitled, "Wish"

I accidentally started a small piece today after flipping through photos of our own journey to a large family (which luckily happened with zero planning or deliberate maneuvering on my part).

I suppose I started the day off in a contemplative state.  Today is the seventeenth anniversary of the day that my hubby and I tied the knot.  We met on June 20, 1999 and really were inseparable since our first date which was all of sixteen hours long (all spent vertically, thank you very much!).

Neither of us are fans of chit chat, and we didn't think we'd ever see each other again.  He lived in South Korea at the time on the DMZ but was visiting his Godson and we met at a BBQ in Northern Virginia.  He was only in town for two days, so really, there was no good reason not to discuss things that matter.  Religion, politics, childrearing....there were no topics off limits and as it happens, we had much in common despite our very different approaches to life and personal tastes (he was stuck in 80's and I was just stuck up...)

And here we are, seventeen years in, multiplied, celebrating a great decision and all that ensued.

But he and I have dear ones in our lives that no less in love, are having trouble multiplying.  It is a heartbreaking scenario that many couples face, and this mixed media piece, "Wish" is for them.

Mixed media is something I've always enjoyed.  I've only ever produced two that I thought were show worthy, but since I have a show coming up and lots of space at this gallery in Feb/Mar 2018, I thought it would be a good time to make a few smaller works too, to fill in the wall space and/or accentuate the larger pieces that I'll be promoting.  "Wish" isn't anywhere near finished, but I have some solid ideas for it moving forward.  I'm hoping it turns out really well.

A hearty Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to site visitors from Germany, Norway, and Siberia (The Russian Federation).  I wish you all hope and miracles in 2018.  Thank you so much for stopping by.
