Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Sand Beach, Acadia. DONE!

This is the first piece for the Melange I show that is absolutely finished!  Very excited!

I had a fantastic day today. The last of the holiday company headed off to the airport and I had almost four hours before having to stop and get the kiddos home from school.  What I experienced was nothing short of "Painter's High".  Not sure if I am the only one to call it that but essentially, I was "In The Zone".   Things were going well, and new ideas come to mind, namely, adding some bright geometrics to offset the dark land/seascape that was to be this piece.

In addition, I added some cloud shadows to "Kiawah Waterway".  It really needed some abstract elements to fit into this show, which I would like it too, if at all possible.

I have a few additions to my mixed media piece, and much more to come, including painting on top of my images.  Looking forward to crossing that one off the to-do list as well.

Lastly, I added some interest to  "The Bathers" in form of shading.  I'll do more tomorrow, but was experimenting with Payne's Grey to add depth to the piece.  I believe I'm going to approach the locks of hair tomorrow with an idea that I had today but didn't get to.

And for my dog-loving viewers out there, check out where my German Shorthaired Pointer, Sadie, is now spending her mornings...in the soot!  I had a fire on last night and their were a few coals still tepid enough to warm her old bones after going outside for a bathroom break this morning (minus four with the wind chill factored in!  Ugh!!!!)  And you should see my poor chickens!  If they didn't poop everywhere, I'd bring them in the house too.

Reminds me of a B&B in Normandie, France, that we stayed in ten years ago....a gorgeous old stone farm house (albeit drafty for March).  The innkeeper was British.  She kept the kitchen door open and there were always chickens, ducks, and even a goat in there while we were guests.

Sadie "In" the fireplace.

If I were a chicken or a duck, the kitchen would be the last place I'd comfortably park my tail feathers.
