I love doing commissions! I was asked to do a larger piece with an abstract bent, that hints of seaglass. Those were the only parameters I was given and I am thankful as that will allow me lots of wiggle room in both composition and palette, as well as size. She took a photo of the sofa the new piece will be hung over so I have a good idea of the space I need to fill.
I just started swishing the paint around today, adding layers and making a solid foundation for the colors I will begin to add tomorrow. Here’s what I have so far. Looks promising, I think.
