I made some notable progress on this piece today but needed to stop after a few hours because the canvas was too wet to work anymore and needed to set up a bit. I have three photos for you today, in process pics taken before I began, about two hours in, then when I stopped.
This looks busy, but it’s my method of covering the canvas with the colors I want to use, in various shapes, then adding calm to areas in order to offer contrast…
You can see here where I began softening up the composition a bit. Looks a lot less hectic. Ideally, I want my onlookers to feel at ease, not stressed.
Home Stretch!!!!! I am loving this piece and can’t wait to add a little more intensity as a highlight/lowlight effect tomorrow when I pick up my (utterly destroyed) brush again.

SUNDAY!!!! 6-9 pm!!!! Maryland Federation of Art’s annual Collector’s Choice Event at Annapolis Volvo! I’ll be there showing off some beautiful wearable gems by Cezzanne Jewelers in Historic Annapolis. Also, my work, “Nor’easter” was chosen as the cover art for this years’s events!
Here it is! Pretty exciting to have my artwork all over Annapolis and beyond for this event!!!
