Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

"Harbor Lights (Late Evening in Annapolis"

Just finished this up and it is drying!

Sometimes in the fall, if the sun is bright enough in the harbor, the rays bounce off the pavement and many fabled historic Annapolis shops that head away from the harbor and up to hill on Main Street, to where the sun has already fallen. Walking down Main when bright evening colors rush north, it is quite hard to see with the glare from all the window glass, the windshields, the illuminated water and the metal roofs.

I initially intended this piece to be a seascape, but the more I looked at it and worked on it, the more it insisted that it is not aqua but terra, particularly the terra of my favorite pre-Revolutionary town.

This substantial piece, 36x48, is now complete. A little melancholy compared to recent pieces that are peacocks of the most vivid of complementary hues. But, it is fall now and I supposed my head is winding down for winter, finding sleepier palettes a comfort, and lightening up on the layers that normally would include ten to fifteen washes, chunky schmears of heavy body acrylics with a palette knife, and a heavy dose of texture, built up color that is more 3D than 2D.

This piece has not yet been claimed, so if it speaks to you, please speak to me about it. I do gladly accept payment plans and would particularly love to make someone’s Christmas (or Chanukah?) wish come true in the form of a heirloom piece of art for home or office to celebrate the holidays.

If you would like to purchase before the holidays, I am offering my FRIENDSANDFAMILY discount of 30% to all my site visitors. Just enter FRIENDSANDFAMILY code at checkout on my site. If there is a piece that is not posted that you have seen prior, it may still be available, I just have too much work to post at once and don’t want the site to feel cluttered. Please get in touch via my contact page for more info :)

Thank you for stopping in this weekend and please have a very safe and blessed Thanksgiving!
