Sometimes being forced to stay at home is a good thing. I had two of our four to myself over the weekend while my fella had the other two at a hockey tournament (they won!!!!) in Pittsburgh from Friday to Monday evening. No only was our son’s travel hockey team successful victors, I had some time to slow down at home with the other two, making art on the kitchen table by the fire.
My little guy made a most impressive modern portrait of George Washington, a caricature of Santa Clause, and kept me laughing as I started filling in the drawing I began on Friday afternoon.
Hospice of The Chesapeake holds a poster competition each year and MFA artist members are invited to submit. At the party, everyone gets one vote and whomever is chosen has their art plastered all over Annapolis and it’s surrounds on the official Hospice Cup Poster. I’m sure I mentioned that last time I entered, I lost by two votes.
So, over the weekend, I painted, cut, and mounted this piece “Good Wind” to submit for the Hospice Cup art competition. Today, I decided to also enter it in the MFA Art of Paper Show, which is in February at Circle Gallery. We'll see what happens. The juror for the Art on Paper Show is the Georgetown University Curator of Collections. Wish me luck!
“Good Wind” is available for $375 and can be purchased through PayPal or by check. Please contact me for details.
