Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Quarantine Papercut #2 "Fickle Bay"

I finished up another watercolor/papercut piece today. I spent many, many hours on this one and you can see all the layers unclose in person. This piece is a standard size, so framing should be a snap!

9x12'“ “Fickle Bay”. $175 including shipping to Continental US. Contact me via email for shipping costs to other places :)

The title cites a commonly known fact to locals in Maryland, that the Chesapeake is a great stealer of lives. Just last week, RFK’s granddaughter and great grandson were lost in Shady Side, in a protected cove while attempting to retrieve a ball in the shallow waters. Each year lives are lost, even to great watermen (and water women?), perhaps taking ransom for the provisional bounties that the Chesapeake provides each fishing/crabbing season.

If you would like to have this piece for you own, it’ll put you back $175 including shipping to the Continental US. Contact me for overseas shipping costs. And since we’re talking overseas, a hearty “hello” to Bejing, Ankara, Montreal, and Paris! Thank you for visiting me yesterday! Nothing gets me giddier than checking my stats and seeing all those beautiful IP addresses! The fun part really is trying to guess if viewers are folks I have known over the years or not. But, last time I checked, I have never met a buddy from Bejing. Perhaps it time?

I’ve got Fickle Bay posted on a creamy painted wood wall, so that the colors can be seen properly. Sometimes, blues and greens are hard to get accurate, but I find they pop on a warmer background. I hope you enjoy the palette….it’s pretty limited, but that’s more of a challenge, and again, the texture plays a big part in the many-layered piece. There are almost five layers of watercolored papers secured to each other in order to make it more than two dimensional.

I’m signing off for the rest of the weekend. It’s Good Friday, a Holy Day for Christians, and I’ll be spending the rest of the weekend with the family. Blessings and Peace to you all, wherever you are, and whatever faith you practice!

Jen :)
