Good afternoon. Prayers and blessings to those in the south and neighbors on the eastern shorelines of our nation who are suffering at the hands of Mother Nature as we begin what looks to be a very active pending hurricane season.
In Maryland, we had lots of big boomers last night and buckets of rain so far. We live in an active flood zone up here in Baltimore Co., so please keep those who are living in valleys, in your prayers this weekend.
Today, my studio sale piece is entitled, “Acadia”. This piece is one of my favorites, probably because it is the first abstract I completed that I was actually proud of and was in a gallery show in 2017. I believe this piece is an acrylic, 16x20, and is on a gallery wrapped canvas, ready to hang.
It is always scary to fore into a new style, but I’ve made a point to continue to grow, experiment, and push myself into new techniques and applications in order to keep from becoming too stuck in one style. This is a job hazard in art as having a distinct style is praised so that all your work is considered cohesive. Galleries like when all your work has a common thread, and fellow artists take notice and ask lots of questions when you go from something they thought was decidedly you into a new adventure that looks very unlike your previous work.
So, there I was in 2017. My work was shifting into an abstract style, and I officially committed to modern interpretations of what I see through my camera lens. “Acadia #1” was a success and now it is ready for a new home. The gallery price was $600. It is $350 during my studio sale. Please contact me through my “contact me” page for payment and shipping details/quotes.
Many blessings to you on this wet, gray, Saturday. I’d planned to do yard work all day, but perhaps I needed a day to rest anyhow. Lots to process out there and my mind is feeling rather cluttered this week.
Thank you for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for the next installment of my studio sale….
