Hello and welcome to Tuesday in my little studio. After a couple more hours under the architect’s lamp, my new piece and very first completed painting this year and in my new digs, is finally done.
It’s a bright and airy piece which is hard to do with such a large canvas. But, with liberal application of a spectrum of whites and creamy off-white hues, the effect presented (I hope) is a simple composition with soft linear qualities that still evokes a restful feeling. I’m pretty happy with this piece, particularly as it is almost as big as my new (much cozier) workspace/studio.
I am looking for studio space in downtown Traverse City, with good foot traffic, but with Covid still very active and folks staying home rather than browsing accompanied by winter weather (five more inches of snow today!), summer may be a better time to explore a larger (and sunnier!!!) space.
“Confined Aquifers” are fresh waterways beneath impenetrable bedrock. I think they must be quite lovely underground, particularly up here with all the Great Lakes. And I love the flavor of well-water from aquifers with a mineral content very different from city-water…. and clean on the tastebuds (unless you have a lot of sulfur like in our last home).
Please inquire via my contact page for more info on this piece. Thank you for stopping in!
