Happy Tuesday! I’m excited to share that I have three pieces that will be hung this week at The Crooked Tree Arts Gallery/Center in Traverse City, Michigan! I’m an artist guild member there since the transplant last year and I’m very excited to start volunteering there as well. I’ll be there this Friday from 12-2 if you want to stop in!
Below is a new piece that will be in the original style of my “Confined Aquifer”, “Tidal Flats”, and “West Bay (Arial)”. It may be the fact that I’m enamored with MCM style (I have been for a decade or longer), but there is something comforting about order to some folks (myself included). Adding in a blend or juxtaposition of shapes and abstract organic shapes really makes for an interesting composition. Not sure what this piece will look like (I never am sure) but I’m enthused about the balance on the canvas and the palette so far!
This week, I will also start a new figurative piece. It’s been a while since I painted little humans but I’m getting the fever and have a great photo from the summer to use. It’s a fun snapshot of our boys being goofy on the dock. I’ll share as soon as I get it sketched out. It’s going to be big! Hopefully, our boys will want to have it in their room!
Thank you so stopping by today and stay warm!!!
