Welcome!

I’ve been documenting my creative endeavors since 2014. Thoughts on the creative process, my travels, shows, new ideas and what’s on my easel are just a few things I post on. Feel free to linger…

Storm in my sunflowers…

Today, Plein Air Painters of NW Michigan were at Saxon & Deans Art Studio/Farm in Lelenau Co. to paint the meadows, fencing, animals, and there were two sunflowers that were calling to me.

I tried my hand again at watercolor as I love the patience it requires. Once the paint is down, it can’t be lifted, so it’s easy to booger up a composition.

And then there’s the weather!

I got back in my car and headed home as a dark and sizable storm blew in. By the time I pulled into my driveway, 11 miles later, it was raining buckets.

That said, I did get the negative space filled in before fleeing the farm scene.

Here’s where I stopped today although it needs some finishing…It’s shiny as it’s still quite wet.
