#8 in a series that will be ten total. This piece is a serene and simplistic yet offers modern, angular shapes and lines with a bright but balanced palette.
The composition is of the centennial farm of our late neighbor, a Dutch Michigander who hauled ass in his John Deere tractor well into his 90’s. Frank was cool at first, much like Northerners are, but warmed up as soon as we inhabited our camp one summer about nine years ago. It was a magical time in our lives. We experienced our first weeks off the grid on 40 acres we purchased for my husband to hunt. With two dogs and a new baby, all eight of us in a 26’ RV, it was a sublime circus of God’s country, nature, dirt, and togetherness that as a former city girl, I’d never had.
