"Totem" UNSTRETCHED 26x26 Original Acrylic Painting
UNSTRETCHED Acrylic on Canvas Fabric (No Stretcher Bars). I created this piece years ago and love the softness of it. It’s lovely on a wall. I stretched this one myself and unfortunately, after a move, the stretcher bars bowed and this piece needs to be restretched. The size is not a standard one so you may need to make your own stretcher bars or have a professional do it for you. This piece could also have the boarders removed/cut off and be put behind glass or mounted to foam board before framing. Yes, a little work, but this piece is really once of my favorites and a signature piece. Its the beginning of me letting go of realism and really embracing abstract compositions. I suppose it’s a “study” but really turned out better than I could have intended.
This is a soft, ethereal piece that really is light, airy, and perfect for a room that needs some calm. I painted the piece for myself, experimenting with only a three color palette, as an exercise in restraint. It’s hard to know when to stop, and I painted this piece with the specific goal to keep it simple and unsullied. I’m very happy with this piece but have decided to post it as I have absolutely no more room on the walls at home.
